Goddess of Greens
Juice the following:-
2 sticks of celery
2 cucumbers or 3 if they are small3 kale or other dark leafy green leaf (chard)
1" piece of fresh ginger
1 lemon
1 lime
handufll of fresh herbs like cilantro, mint, basil
Pour the juice into a high speed blender and add
1 - 2 avocados depending on how thick you would like your shake to be
Soy sprouts (1 scoop per person)
Core Vital Healthy Living Clay - 1 scoop per person
1 tablspoon flax seed oil
1/4 tsp Salt
9 ice cubes
Blend at full speed until everything is pulverized and it resembles a smoothie.
I also put in a tablespoon of liquid Chlorophyll but you can leave that out as well as the sprouts .
You can also make this straight into a shake keeping the bulk and fiber if you put all ingredients into a blender.
Ensure the ginger is peeled as well as the lemon and lime.
This shake is really delicious and I make enough to last me til Lunch time.
because of it's lemony/limy taste, the children love it too.
Edamame Hummus and Coconut Hummus
1 packet of frozen Edamame beans (I can't get fresh but that would be even better)
1 Teaspoon Celtic Salt
1/2 Teaspoon ground Cumin
1/2 Teaspoon Ground Coriander
1/2 Teaspoon ground ginger (you can add fresh ginger if you like for more of a kick)
1/2 Teaspoon ground Paprika
4 tablespoon Extra Virgin Olive Oil
3 Tablespoons Raw Tahini
5 Tablespoons freshly squeezed lemon or lime
2 cloves of garlic, cut in 1/4s
1 big handful of fresh cilantro, include stalks as these have the strongest flavor of the plant. (you can use any herb you like, fresh parsley, Basil etc.)
Water to help achieve desired consistency
Steam Edamame beans for 5 mins. these are only going to be lightly steamed to keep as much of their nutritional value as possible. Leave to cool.
In a food processor add all other ingredients except the water and add the cooled Edamame Beans.
Blend until it has formed a smooth paste. Add water, a little at a time until you have the consistency you require.
This is delicious eaten by itself or with crudités or added to a lemon and olive oil vinaigrette.
For a really fabulous alternative try this.
Replace two of the tablespoons of olive oil with two tablespoons of warmed coconut oil and mix in the same way.
place in the fridge and leave to cool for an hour if you can -(this doesn't last very long in our house as it tastes so good)
It will have a more set consistency like cream cheese and in fact I have been told it reminds people of cream cheese.
Because Edamame beans are packed with protein and chlorophyl and due to the great fats in this hummus, they are great to include in your cleanse
Who thought cleansing could be so tasty!
Pesto Party!
1/4 cup freshly soaked Pumpkin seeds or previously soaked and dehydrated (the dehydrated ones have a stronger flavor)
3 cups of fresh basil tightly packed (include the top parts of the stalks too for flavor
6 tablespoons Olive Oil
1/4 teaspoon Celtic Salt
2 Tablespoons freshly squeezed lemon or lime
Place all ingredients in a food processor and mix until a smooth pesto is created.
You can always double up on these quantities to make a bigger batch!
According to Dr Robert Young, in his latest book the pH miracle, Pumpkin seeds are highly alkalizing. Combine them with the living Basil leaves filled with Chlorophyl and you have yourself a dance party going on inside you!
